Did Scientist Just Capture Dark Matter?

Back in 2023, a mile underground, in a tank of the purest xenon on Earth, something hit a single atom in a way physicists can’t explain. Scientists checked it, re-checked it, and it still won’t go away.

If it’s real, it points to a dark matter particle far heavier than anyone expected. If it’s not, it’s one of the strangest false alarms in the history of searching for dark matter.
